Welcome to the third Newsletter of DC-POWER ProjectAs
we reach the 18-month milestone in the DC-POWER journey, we’re excited
to share the latest highlights, progress, and upcoming activities from
across the consortium. |
Project progressThe DC-POWER team is moving at full speed ahead in preparation for the first reporting period. Here are a few key updates:
- ARCEL is finalising the mechanical design and has officially launched production as of early June. The system is designed for an output voltage of 380V and 500 kW power.
- AEGPS is making steady progress and remains confident in completing the lab prototype on schedule.

New Data Center pilot siteWe are pleased to welcome Synapsecom Telecoms S.A.
as a new key partner in the DC-POWER project! As the project's new data
center site demonstrator, Synapsecom will lead the testing and
validation of the innovative D3bus technology, aimed at boosting energy
efficiency in data centers.
With its strong background in telecommunications and IT, and
stakeholders from Cyprus and Greece, Synapsecom brings valuable
expertise to the project. Their pilot site
will play a central role in demonstrating how sustainable energy
solutions can power the digital infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re
excited about this collaboration and the important contributions
Synapsecom will make toward smarter, greener data centers.

Collaboration with EU projects
- Meeting with a sister project Shift2dc (17 March 2025, online). The DC-POWER and SHIFT2DC
teams met for the first time. This productive session explored shared
priorities, such as DC grid architecture, grounding, and protection
schemes. The exchange marked the start of ongoing collaboration, with
further joint activities planned to accelerate innovation.
- THEUS-led collaboration group:
DC-POWER also takes part in a broader cooperation network including
similar projects (HYNET, InterSCADA, TIGON, HYPERRIDE, PROSECCO,
HVDC-WISE, DAEDALOS, InterOPERA) designed to promote mutual visibility
and exchange among related initiatives.

Public eventsIn the last months, the DC-POWER project has been presented at:
- PCIM 2025 (7 May 2025, Nuremberg, Germany). Presentation by Arcel
