Third General Assembly - Last activitiesLast
week, the DC-POWER consortium came together in the picturesque city of
Prague, Czech Republic, for the third General Assembly.
This gathering marked an important milestone in the project, bringing
together the partners from diverse sectors to exchange insights, discuss
progress, and shape the path forward.
While general topics were part of the agenda, the spotlight was on the
exciting advancements being made in the development of the Medium
Voltage Direct Current (MVDC) system.
Each
partner, leveraging their unique expertise, provided updates on their
contributions to the project. These include significant progress in the
development of key components such as the appliance driver, protection
system, energy storage system, converters, and the energy management
system. At the same time, the consortium is making headway in system
modelling and integration, ensuring that all elements of the MVDC system
work seamlessly together.
Preparations are well underway for the first lab test, and later this
year, a prototype will bring our collective vision one step closer to
reality.

New Electrolyser pilot siteAdding
to this momentum, McPhy’s s Gigafactory in Belfort has been
proposed as a new pilot site for testing the MVDC system.
This facility, featuring a 250 kWp PV installation, offers an ideal
environment to demonstrate the potential of our innovative technology in
real-world conditions.
The consortium is excited about this development, as it represents a
significant opportunity to validate the system’s capabilities and gather
valuable insights.

Events | In parallel with the advancement of DC-POWER activities, the project has been presented at:
- EU PVSEC 2024 (September 23–27, 2024, Vienna, Austria) - Poster
- Markt & Technik DC Konferenz (October 23, 2024, Munich, Germany)
- ENERGAIA at CEA booth (December 11, 2024, Montpellier, France)
In addition to public events, DC-POWER is organising a meeting with its
sister project, Shift2DC, in the first quarter of the year. This
collaborative exchange will provide an opportunity to share insights,
discuss progress, and learn from each other’s experiences. |
